Performing with a Microphone

On Tuesday morning we found the Shul set up after a program on Sunday with the microphone out.
The children were inquisitive and asking about why it was set up and what the microphone was used for.
Morah Mimi asked the children if they'd like to try to speak and sing in the microphone.
After the initial excitement the children weren't sure.
Morah Mimi began to talk in it and the children began to giggle and begged to have a turn as well.
It was amazing to observe what happened next.
As they spoke and sang in the microphone they moved into a magical arena.
It was so exciting for them to hear themselves!  Their voices began to take off.
After, Morah Mimi decided to move circle time in the shul,
and the children all took turns singing in the microphone.
This encouraged those that were anxious about performing on stage to take part in leading and performing during circle time.

First, Morah Mimi showed us what it sounds like.
We had a surprising and funny conversation.

Then, Amanda performed "Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star" and entertained us with an act.
Chana and Sammy followed after.

We all took turns leading circle time in the microphone.
