Pie Baking

Along with our fall theme, together we decided to bake sweet potato pie.  This evolved into our focus on letter "P" this week, although Morah initially had planned on focusing on "F" for fall.  The children know way better:)

First the children peeled the sweet potatoes.
This lead into discussion of which peels of fruits and vegetables can and can't be eaten.
The children also observed that the end of the potato is stringy.

The children took turns following the written list of ingredients and directions on the wall and participated by adding those ingredients after measuring them.

We all take turns to mix.  We countdown to ten for turns.

And then...we had our pie for lunch!
