Welcome back to our blog!!
Here is an overall view of the last few weeks.
Spring is in the air.
Here we are listing thoughts that come to mind when we here the word spring.
Hannah- Flowers
Chana- Leaves
Aiden- Sun
Amanda- Butterflies
Morah Yehudice- Parks
Morah Stephanie- Bugs
What do we need to plant grass?
Chana -Sun
Aiden- Dirt
Amanda- Seeds
Hannah- Water
Amanda started to fill our water table with water
Chana begins to add soil to the planting tray
Aiden is beginning to add the grass seeds
Amanda, Jordan and Hannah are settling the seeds into the soil
When we came back to school after a few days look what we found.....
Our grass grew!!!!
We are measuring the grass to see how much it will
grow overtime
How many pieces of grass can we pick and how tall are they?
Spring Literacy
In our literacy center we are identifying new words that relate to plants and trees.
Fruit Salad
We had a super time making a fresh fruit salad.
When Morah asked what all the fruits have in common, everyone said that they ALL HAVE SEEDS
We peeled our fruits
We cut them up into 1/2's 1/4's and 1/3's
When it was all done we had it for dessert.
Fun in the sun
We love having fun in the sun.
We wait patiently for our turns on the
swings and slide.
We love to sing our L-I-N-E U-P song when
its time to line up.
Last year we found a turtle back here, I wonder
what we'll find this year.
Jordon and Sammy love balancing
on the stumps
Enjoying more seasonal fruits
Everyone served themselves 3 pieces of fruit to start
We had a great time doing a science experiment.
We were able to see how water travels from the root up the stem to help the petals bloom.
We added some coloring to the water so that we can see it in the "tubes" of the stems.
It was so exciting to see our friends expressions when the petals changed colors.
Adding the color
Aiden decided to mix some colors
Which flowers have more petals?
What are these flowers called?
We were able to identify a rose and a sunflower.
Most of the children said a rose has more petals.
What is new and growing outside???
A rainy day who says you can't go out and play?
blending colors
Hannah spelled her name
We once again had a special visit from Mat Man. He helped us review our numbers and body awareness.
We all had fun singing our mat man song as we worked together to build him from head to toe.
Once we completed Mat Man we all went to our seats and drew our very own picture of mat man.
This activity helped us work on our fine motor skills.
Aiden had fun dressing his mat man.
